Located in the heart of Hamilton city-centre, Novotel Tainui Hotel has recently been fitted out with stunning new tiled bathrooms installed by the Impact Tiling team. Here we share some of the beautiful details of this landmark hotel renovation project, which we worked on closely with Form Construction.
Wanting to make the most of their riverside location and the tourism boom, Novotel Tainui Hamilton saw the opportunity to expand its four-and-a-half-star hotel.
Form Construction undertook the hotel expansion which included an additional 40 rooms over four-levels.
Impact Tiling has been working closely with Form Construction on its Waikato based commercial developments over the past few years, so were excited to have the opportunity to work with them on the Novotel Tainui renovation project.
With works beginning in 2018, Impact Tiling was responsible for tiling the beautiful bathrooms in the premium hotel suites.
The unique design included a fully-tiled bathroom, with a feature wall of a dark marble floor to ceiling shower tile paired with a smaller white textured tile. This was complemented by seamless frameless glass showers and floating timber vanities, finished off with a wood-look tile on the floors.
Impact Tiling Project Manager Paul Le Normand says the project was an example of high-end tile design.
“The Novotel bathroom design was a great project to be involved in because all surfaces except for the ceiling were tiled,” says Paul.
“The frameless glass showers really allowed the tile to shine, and the end result is a sleek, stylish bathroom that is easy to maintain and keep clean between hotel guests.”
The contrast of the dark large marble and the smaller light textured tiles give a modern, timeless feel to the bathroom and pair well with the interior of the rest of the suites.
